To implement and execute upon the service model described above (W4LP) is creating a business model based on joint ventures with companies that can provide a turn-key facility or other enterprise opportunity to the (W4LP) constituency. (W4LP) is currently focused on seeking industrial relationships for the build-out and operation of manufacturing facilities that could require a mix of skilled and unskilled labor. However, (W4LP) may also explore opportunities to acquire franchise rights for retail of food industry store fronts, technology-oriented businesses, energy and environmental businesses. As (W4LP) grows it will set up the means for disabled veterans to bring opportunities into the organization, counsel the promoters, assist in developing business plans and provide initial financing in exchange for part ownership. At the beginning of operations (W4LP) founders and close supporters will develop, promote and execute on the enterprises to be developed.
(W4LP) will depend on assistance from joint venture partners, its advisors and Board and independent consultants to develop the business mode, raise funds and conclude relationships leading to the ability to execute on the mission.
While the organization itself will be dependent on donations at the outset, over time the profits generated by the plants and other businesses (W4LP) owns and operates will increasingly sustain the entity. (W4LP) will continue to raise funds through donors in order to expand and serve more veterans across the country. However, within just a short time (W4LP) should be sustained by its share in the revenues from the businesses it operates. Donated funds will thus increasingly go toward services and benefits to veterans and to expanding operations into new communities.
(W4LP) will create thousands of "green jobs" for people who have been difficult to employ. This will enhance our communities, add to our local, state and federal tax rolls, reduce the burden on public services and health services and also create additional "green jobs" for non-veterans. (W4LP) is currently working with Tucson,
Arizona-based PEI Worldwide to outfit a plant to produce a revolutionary form of concrete block for residential and commercial building. (W4LP) plans to operate a plant in Southern California and will have exclusive territorial right to produce and sell the proprietary Thura Block product in the territory. PEI will receive a royalty on the license and a fee for the territorial rights. The plant could employ dozens of disabled veterans in a variety of blue and white collar positions. It is estimated that the plant could generate $10 million or more in sales per year.
PEI is supporting the project in several ways. First, it is consulting with (W4LP) to determine optimal site location, plant specifications and to prepare a use of funds statement that will determine the amount of money needed for launch. Second, PEI will train W4L personnel to operate the plant. Third, PEI will provide ongoing managerial and operational assistance to the plant for as long as needed. Fourth, PEI will assist the plant in developing business relationships and sales opportunities.
(W4LP) is now working with PEI and with Aero Financial to structure the entity and develop its initial business mode, fundraising strategy and operations plan.
